FREE Consequence Chart for your family

CODE IS NOW WORKING- SO TRY AGAIN! THANKS!

I have had a lot of requests this year for a sample of our consequence chart that I made for our kids. It's purpose was to help guide them into making wise choices. We all must learn that there are consequences for right and wrong choices and our job as parents is to lead our children in making wise decisions. The way I started this was as a suggestion from my husband when he came home one night and I was frustrated at all the little irritating things the kids were doing during the day. He suggested wisely that I write down my frustrations the next day. What I found was that there weren't a hundred things the kids were doing wrong, but a few things over and over again so that it seemed like a hundred.
Once I had isolated the irritations, we discerned what Scriptures they were violating and made up this consequence chart to hang in the house. When one of these irritations occurred again, I brought the child to the chart and had him read what the consequence would be. I read the accompanying Scripture and had them repeat it back also. I then used the opportunity to explain what the right course of action should have been.
A short time later, Kelley (who couldn't yet read) came to me and asked, "Mommy, what is the consequence for ____________?" When I told her, she replied, "Oh, I guess I won't do it then." She was learning to make wise decisions.
This list is not meant to be comprehensive. It is just the things my kids were struggling with at the time. You can make one with the things your kids struggle with and it changes over time, as well. I've had so many requests for an example that I felt this might be helpful for you.

Hi!

Just an FYI that I get the following error message from the shopping cart when I try to get the chart "Required product for that discount code is not in your cart." But the chart is in my cart. Just checking to see if it's just me.

Thanks for offering the freebie!

The Consequence Chart is no longer available as a free download, as that was a special offer for this article. However, you CAN purchase it from the Learning Parent for just 1.00. Here is the link for it
http://thelearningparent.blogspot.com/2009/07/free-consequence-chart-for-your-family.html

I may do a new post sometime soon to address this for others- as many people have enjoyed this chart and may not realize that it is available for 1.00.

thanks for asking!
