A Thanksgiving Psalm Tradition

I love using this Psalm during the Thanksgiving season. It is full of the blessings the Lord has given to us, as well as the proper response of our hearts- thankfulness!

Take the month of November to teach your children this Psalm.
Point out God's goodness to us, and talk about ways we can all make a joyful noise and serve Him with gladness in our daily lives.

Perhaps you could all recite it together on Thanksgiving Day before the big meal!
Would not that be a special tradition to begin this year?

Psalm 100

1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

This is one of my favorite psalms. I learned it when I was about 8yo, and then said it in front of our little church congregation with several other kids.
Blessings,
Marcia
